My suspicion is that this park is a magnet for mosquitoes in warmer weather, as the edge of the lake is marshland. I stayed here in winter, so my visit was quiet, relaxing, and ... WebAug 18, 2024 · Visited Lake Mineral Wells State Park with 5 year old grand child and it was fun! The kids LOVED the swimming area. We fished on several of the docks and the kids caught a couple nice size fish. The staff in the Park Store were helpful and we bought bait right there. I highly recommend this outing! It is worth the drive!
